This is a great question as we want to improve the overall appearance of your butt, not just make it bigger. The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) will not treat the cellulite in the butt and thighs. The BBL is a great treatment to enhance your buttock and overall shape, however it does not treat the superficial cellulite.
There are several options to address the cellulite for your butt so that you can enhance the shape, size and contour of your butt. The options are surgeon specific and should be discussed with your Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon performing your Brazilian Butt Lift.
One of the only treatments available for cellulite that address the cause of cellulite is Cellfina. Cellfina is unique in that it releases the bands under the skin that cause the dimpling in on your skin. Releasing these bands treats the cause of cellulite.
A cellfina treatment can be done at the time of your Brazilian Butt Lift if your surgeon has that option available for you. This option is popular as logistically your two procedures are combined in one.
However, if you have had a Brazilian Butt Lift and want to address the dimpling, Cellfina is still an option. I typically have patients wait at least six weeks after their Brazilian Butt Lift to undergo a Cellfina treatment. This recovery time allows the swelling to resolve and the fat time to “take” prior to the Cellfina treatment.
The Cellfina can be done in the office under local or as part of your surgery, which gives patients a lot of options in improving the contour results of their BBL.
Please consult with your Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who performs a high volume of Brazilian Butt Lifts about your Cellfina treatment options.
